I've got a TT720, and the latest Wester Europe map has grown beyond the internal memory. I asked on the TT forum what I should do, and was told to just add an SD card, and that HOME would allow me to upload my new map to it. So, SD card added, and recognised because I'm asked which storage device I want to upload my updates to. I select SD card - but when device is updating only the internal memory symbol flashes, and the update fails because of lack of memory....

As you already have the map downloaded to your PC you don't need to use the useless Home software to install it, simply locate where Home has stored the downloaded maps on the computer Documents/ TomTom/ Home/ Downloads/ complete/ maps (or similar) then use WinRar to open the download and extract the files straight to the memory card, in the same download folder you will also see the activation.zip file this also needs extracting using WinRar to the same folder as was created when you extracted the main map files - Mike

Hi Mike, I saw you're comprehensive answer on the TT forum just after I posted here - I've now had to order a SDHC card reader so I can transfer my files! Getting there slowly. Thanks again.

You can use your Go720 as the card reader without using TTHome. Connect the TT to the PC using the Cradle or an ordinary USB cable. Turn off TTHome if it automatically starts up and then extract the Map from PC to Go720 using the advice above.
