creating a folder on the memory stick for Nissan Connect

When I attempt to create the folder x:\my pois\mypoiwarnings as soon as I enter the : and the \ it will not accept the characters. I've tried 2 different memory sticks with the same effect

Thanks for the help Andy, I created the folders as you said and have transfered the file as downloaded but it is not being accepted by the connect, I've been 3 days on this and am running out of ideas

Is this file 134kb. I'm wondering if I'm getting all of it. If I try to open it the computer goes berserk flashing on and off so I send the file to a location and click on select all to remove the zip files. I then send it to mypoiwarnings folder and transfer the poiwarnings folder into the pois folder.Have I gone wrong somewhere??????????
I've also scanned the file for viruses.

Sorry, I'm afraid I can't be any more help... I understood the folder instruction when I read it, but I haven't a clue about anything specific to the actual Nissan Connect... never even seen one.

The folder named ''myPOIWARNINGS'' is advised as a compressed (zipped) folder containing file pgsw-speed-cams-xxxx
I assume that the '' and '' symbols have no significance to the name of the folder

I have edited out part the file name you wrote above as it is part of our anti-piracy system.

What 'and' symbols are you referring to? I'm not quite sure what you have here but 'myPOIWarnings' should be a normal folder and it should contain the 'contents' of the zipped database you downloaded from us and not the .zip file itself.

i.e. you download our database which is a compressed (.zip) file and then you extract (uncompress) the contents. It is these resulting files that should be copied to the myPOIWarnings (also note the correct case sensitivity of the folder name).

This is all laid out in the installation guide.

Ah yes, penny drops, sorry! The quotes are not required in the actual folder name.

Hello again Darren, I think my problem was not realising that the folder titles are case sensitive and had downloaded the file and decompressed it successfully, however, on renaming the folders I neglected to enter the space between the my and POIs. This resulted in a part download as the proceedure did not complete as listed in the 'Connect' booklet.I then pressed the 'Remove my POIs' expecting to start from scratch but nothing happened. I then pressed 'Factory settings' thinking this would enable me to re enter the memory stick. I appear to be back to square one as there is no response from the 'Connect'

Ok, if you have now got the correct folder structure you should be able to browse to your memory stick and see the first folder:

my POIs with space!

Clicking on that will show you the next folder:

myPOIWarnings

Assuming we're Ok so far, within that folder you should now see a number of files, exclusing any help and licence files which you need to have the following:

pocketgps_uk_pmobile.bmp
pocketgps_uk_pmobile.csv
pocketgps_uk_sc.bmp
pocketgps_uk_sc.csv

Do you have them?

I have six files in all, including the ones you've stated.

yes I have the folders correctly named, the six files I put into the 'Warnings' folder and then put the 'Warnings folder' into the my POIs folder.

Can you post a screen dump from Windows Explorer? A picture's worth a thousand words?

From memory there is also a utility, which I've searched for and cant find (x-dir, z-dir??), that allows you to get a fuller listing of a directory structure. Maybe one of the team can remember?
