Is there a way of tightening the swivel joint. I find it to be a bit to easy to be moved, even by the bend in the charging wire!

There is a fix, Mike Alder passed it on to me and I've used it to good effect but it requires you disassemble the mount.

I've used it to good effect, basically you jam in some kitchen foil to increase tension on the ring that rotates. Not too difficult to do.

Start by removing the two rubber bungs from the hinge which reveals two philips head screws, remove the screws to release the top cap (take care not to lose the steel spring)

Then add a couple of small balls of kitchen foil to increase spring pressure and put the top back on - take care to get both ends of the spring back under the top cap along with the balls of kitchen foil and you should find it will take more effort to move the cradle on the rotation ring.

Mine used to swing around if cornering a little fast, bearing in mind I drive a Volvo V70 its not a sports car so it didn't need much lateral force to get the device in the holder swinging like a pendulum, post modification it doesn't move unless I want it to - Mike

Thanks Mike - I'll try that.

Re: MikeA's tip, I found the best way was to wrap some strips of tin foil around each end of the metal spring. Just enough that it james into the slot. This raises the spring and does the job of increasing pressure on the ring.

It has solved the main issue but there is still some slack in each 'notch' that allows the cradle to move a tiny amount.
