Got a 950 Live for traffic etc but always like this site's stuff. The Live has speed cameras but are they as good as here? If i put the ones from here on, what happens about the Live's ones?
Does the live have many POI's or do I need to supplement them with this sites? Just lurv my POI's as others know!
Bought a new unit today in Halfords and the guy said it should have the latest mapping. Yet on connecting it to my laptop, it is now downloading both UK etc and USA maps! About 6 hours worth.
Interested in opinions on whether I have made a good move.
Thanks
Doug

POI choice isn't that important on a Live device as you can use the Google Search option which is the best bit of the Live services IMHO.

As for the Safety Camera database TT provide, no mobiles (or very few) and the static cameras are not very accurate, I also don't know how often they update their data either as its all clouded mystery, You can either delete the TT camera database or as I often suggest run both the TT offering and the one from this site and when you have decided which offers the best service delete the offending camera database that doesn't come close to what you expect - I secretly know what the outcome will be though! - Mike

It's Doug's decision and I am sure once he has been trying both databases for a few days/ weeks he will inform us of his choice based upon practical experiance - Mike

Only trouble with Google Search (I would have thought) is that it depends upon an 'independent' entry, and is more suited to a "well, I'm here then, where is a local ????". But people who want to use more specific locations such as Camping Club sites or, more likely in my case, I'm afraid Embarassed , CAMRA-listed pubs, can't guarantee that they will always find a specific local one they might like to go to can they?

You need to try the Google search to see how good it actually is, ok so its a little slow in returning results but 30 seconds is typically all it takes to find what you are looking for - the results are most impressive in use - Mike

Thanks guys, would give both a go but have forgotten where the POI's and speed camera files go on a TomTom! How embarrassing!
That's the trouble of having a Garmin, a Navigon and a Becker - and that's just this week!!!!

The ov2 and bmp files for the POI's go in the "Europe" map folder on the device - Mike
