Seamaster, the SPECS cameras you refer to have now been removed on the latest TT database! Very Happy It was VERY annoying to have that warning everytime I drove past!

Yet they're still in the PGPSW database, at least as far as my new (and updated) Inforad K1 is concerned? Confused

Still in the data Inforad 'serve'. Inforad licence our database but that does not oblige then to incorporate all the data or changes.

As we all know, this data is not in our current database so this is an Inforad issue and not ours, important to be crystal clear on that Smile

Fair enough and I figured as much.

I must admit to being slightly disappointed - first time out with the K1 today and its alerts are even more out of date than Tomtom's!

Interesting to see just how different the two databases are, esp. with regard to claimed mobile trap locations. I noted several alerts on the K1 that my Tomtom never sounds - all within a short twenty mile round trip.

The A1 SPECS at Gateshead are definitely gone now! On both PGPSW and TT cameras!

Indeed - and that makes Inforad's claims, quoted elsewhere on this forum, that they update their database weekly seem questionable

Another couple of examples of Inforad's version of the PGPSW database being behind the Tomtom database: SPECS removed from M42 still being alerted on my K1, SPECS present on A1 at Leeming not being alerted. Both are correctly absent and present respectively in the Tomtom database.

I'll see if we can raise these issues with Inforad.

Thanks Darren.

The apparent lag in Inforad updates does undermine the USP of the K1 as a cheap and easy way to benefit from the PGPSW database.

The removed (weeks ago) A1 Team Valley SPECS are still present in the latest version of the Inforad database that was available to download when I checked for an update last night. Disappointing.

Would be good to understand the relationship between the data provided by PGPSW and the data provided to punters by Inforad. Something's getting lost in translation somewhere.

I haven't contacted them yet but will do so tomorrow. I'll update the thread when I get a reply.

There's been another update today (9.49 to 9.50), which I haven't had a chance to roadtest yet, but will be able to do so over the weekend. This does seem to confirm Inforad's claims of a weekly update.

The errant SPECS cameras were present/absent in 9.48 and 9.49. I'll post a report when I've put 9.50 to the test.

Long-since removed Team Valley SPECS still alerting. Crying or Very sad

Given that there have been been at least three Inforad "updates" (possibly more) since these cameras were physically removed, and reportedly removed from the PGPSW database, we really need clarification of the relationship between the data provided by PGPSW and that piped by Inforad to their punters.

Hmmm... Confused

The target for that link still resides at Inforad, though. It's an executable that you download from their servers, not PGPSW's:

http://www.gpsinforad.com/tools/ifm_New_Release/04122009/IFM36SETUPEN.exe

Perhaps they could be asked to clarify that they manipulate the data PGPSW provide, before it is made available to users?
