According to the Market. I can't install it at the moment as I'm at work and don't have WiFi access (and my mobile signal is very dodgy). No idea what it fixes (or breaks!).

If the new version you're referring to is 8.0.0.493, then at least on my Hero and according to ALK support it's broken. Sad It starts okay, and I can navigate to any of the quick stop locations, but if I select "Destination" or "My Places" the app force closes.

On the up side, it does appear to import POI's again though. Confused

I raised a ticket with ALK Support who, to be fair came back very promptly and said: "We have verified that the problem you have reported is occurring within the latest version of the CoPilot software. This fault has been logged and escalated to our development team for feedback and will be prioritised along with other bugs to be fixed as soon as possible. Unfortunately at this stage, we cannot give you an estimated fix time."

I've asked if there's any way to get the install files for one of the older, less broken versions and will report back if I hear anything. My advice would be to wait. If anyone has upgraded to 493 and is working, it would be good to hear what device, so we can build up a picture of how widespread the problem is.

Dox.

No, I've already got 493 installed, so this must be a version beyond 493.

No force closes on the G1 so far, and POIs are importing OK. It's struggling to give me directions to Milton Keynes right now as I'm in Linkoping in Sweden, but it didn't crash...

I've not had any major issues with 493 (on a HTC Hero), certainly no crashes.

Initial thoughts are it is very much like 493 but I did get a crash when I tried to import some extra voices added using CoPilot Central - the app hung and had to be force closed.

POI import is still as annoying since you have to rename the files to remove the second _.

Yup, 494 which fixes the issue I had on the Hero with the force close. I don't know what the issue was, but the fix seemed to come out of ALK Labs much sooner than other updates, so thanks ALK! Thumbs Up

Verson 540 has been unleashed. The only obvious chsnge I've spoted is that the Android status bar is now displayed at the top of screen. Handy if you are running on battery.

Just noticed, it now appears to use the native Android keyboard instead of its own.

Hi,

Just one other thing I had a problem with on my HTC Hero.

Once upgraded, after I launched Copilot, it would hang at the splash screen.

I deleted the user.cfg file on the sd card, and its worked fine ever since, but i just had to go through my settings again.

Matt

Have they buggered up speed cameras again? Mine don't show at all after the last two updates... (I'm on 8.0.0.541)

I just re-installed them and it goes through the motions of installing them and when I go into the settings they are activated but do not display. After exiting the app and restarting, the settings show saftey cams greyed out implying it has forgotten about them...

No problem here. The existing alerts worked this morning. I've just loaded that latest PGPSW database and it worked fine (except that it strangely threw up a keyboard just before integrating the POIs). Nothing greyed out.

Nope, all screwed up again. It goes through the import and removes the .csv file from copilot\save but doesn't create anything in copilot\EU\UK\save\user_places...

Strange, apart from displaying the keyboard at startup, the inport worked fine for me. I checked that the correct files had been created too.
