amAze GPS launched on iPhone

Just seen this on itunes. The app is £2.39 for 1 month worldwide coverage. Then you can purchase further packages in app - doesn't say how much. Has some nice features by the look of it, with topographical maps of USA and satellite imagery of certain cities. CAmeras, traffic and weather coming soon.

I'd be interested in your expert views.

Hmmm, the only thing amazing about them so far has been the hype with which they describe their product. The versions I've seen on other phones have been more disappointing than amazing but we'll see!

The option to get mapping at a low cost for other countries seems like a good idea at first but I'm fairly sure the map data is delivered over the air. As such it is of no use to travellers as most of us can't justify the data costs incurred if we were to download map data whilst roaming abroad.

The iTunes link is here. I'll ask for a review voucher and we can see if this is hype or a good app after all.
