It's good for logging a track of where you have been like a breadcrumb trail and for you to either play it back later, or to plot it on a map to show where you have been.

True dataloggers do not need connection to any software to record their position, but may need an add-on antenna if one isn't included in the solution.

Yes in theory. From what I recall the Medion isn't BT enabled though so it rules out the RBT3000. You can get a box that uses a 9v PP3 battery and has a serial port, if you can get a cable rigged from that to a PDA connector then there's no reason why you can't use it to connect to a PDA.

However, if you don't need to use it to playback on the PPC, then all you need to do is download log files to a PC and playback say in InfoMap Navigator or something similar.
