Found out via another source, not from the promised Garmin email.

Currently trying to sell me maps for the whole of Europe, I have a 1310 which is UK & ROI only, I don't want all of Europe, and I certainly won't be paying £70 for it.

My free period was over about 10 days ago, so i'm not excited about Garmin at all right now.

Thanks so much for letting us know. I'd just about given up.
For Windows 7 or Vista and IE8 users; if you have trouble getting the download manager to work because of the pop-up blocker (and even turning it off doesn't help), click Start/All Programs and right-click the IE icon. Then click Run As Administrator and you'll find that the downloader will run just fine after you install the ActiveX control.
Sheesh!

I downloaded yesterday morning via a free upgrade as Garmin relaced my nuvi and got 2010.1.
Does that mean a couple of hours later and I would have got .2 ? Evil or Very Mad

Yes, i'm afraid so. But you can try emailing them to see if they will show leniency and allow you to update a new one. It has to be worth a try.

It's not unprecedented that they may give you another update bearing in mind how earth shatteringly late this update is.

I emailed them yesterday, I wasn't a happy bunny so I gave them both barrels with a whole range of whinges, I doubt I will get very far but I did feel better!!

Just installing this now. It's only given me the option to install UK & Ireland onto the Nuvi so far. I'm hoping it's installing MapSource again as usual otherwise I have lost the rest of Europe maps. Shocked

Device is a Nuvi 310 for reference

Looks like it's fine, can see the Maps in MapSource and also got this at the end of the install...

I also got the mesage "UK and Ireland" and went to Map Install to add the rest of Europe to my Nuvi 760.
In order to add the map update, I had to remove most of the voices and vehicles I has stored as a message stating that file size wes greater than availavle free space appeared. When I tried to re-install after download, I get a message that there is insufficent space.
Are there installarion files which I now can delete to free up space? I see that there are various files under "my computer" but am afraid to delete anything in case it is vital for the functioning of the unit.
Alternately, can I install these files on an SD card and have them read by the device. Is there a naming protocol I have to use so that the device thinks that they are in its memory and treats them like they were?
Sorry if these questions have been asked and answered before but I could not locate the information.
Michael

Can someone confirm that this version shows the same changes as the one shown now on the navteq map reporter website?

If so, it just seems that for some reason Garmin choose to skip one Navteq update, as the previous update were somewhere in July, thus proving that navteq delivered the 3 months regular update and Garmin could have delivered their promises if they wanted

I don't know what changes specifically you are after. One change I know has been discussed was the changes to the A419 near Swindon which did seem to be in there when I looked. This one I believe...

Thought the details for the UK might be useful to show whether it is worth upgrading or not. London has been split into East and West London now which is why there is a blank line for East London in the 2010.10 release. Some of the areas South and West of London have changed which is why the file sizes for Southampton and Reading have changed so much.

RV

Worth dropping Garmin customer service a line - I'm sure if enough people complain that an update wasn't released since March / April then they may give youa free copy.
