American outfit XRoad have released a UK & Ireland version of their iPhone navigation application, G-Map.
Available in the iTunes Appstore at an introductory price of £23.99, G-Map is a very simple navigation solution.
Using Navteq map data, G-Map has voice prompted turn-by-turn guidance, landscape and portrait modes, 2D & 3D map view and a very simple menu system.
We'll be road testing the app over the next few days and updating our iPhone Navigation App Comparison Chart where G-Map is already listed.
In the meantime please ask questions in the forum thread or if you have the app, let us know what you think? _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor |

Wow this is an unbelievably basic app. It does the core stuff of getting you from where you are to where you want but there are no bells or whistles whatsoever.
Great for those who hate a myriad of menu options and settings though! _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor |

The routing is the most bizzare I have ever seen from any nav software, I have a number of screen shots that I will post up over the weekend, it might be a cheap app but your will waste a heck of a lot of fuel following this app to your destination - It will get you to where you want to go but even a simple trip down a straight main road and the app goes the long way around the block, far from good - Mike |
