I'm going to try and configure one to match the estimated time of arrival my TomTom720 had on my trip to Gatwick last week. Copilot was 20-25 mins out at the early stages.

I'll let you know.

Yes that would be very handy. I have tried a few variations but so far have been unable to get an "ideal" setup

Please if anyone has any reliable setup share Smile

Hi! (Long time reader, first time poster)
I've only had this two days but have been tweaking the routing settings frequently. I've found that the following works well for me on my non-motorway route to work:
Motorways - Neutral, 70
Dual Carriages - Favour, 60
Primary Roads - Favour, 50
Secondary - Neutral, 40
Local - Neutral, 30

Is it possible to disable the 'safety view' so that it always displays the map rather than just a screen with the junction info?

Go to Settings and make sure "Show More Setings" is selected (Once this is activated it will read "Show fewer Settings") Then go to Settings/ Driver Safety where you have the option to set what you need - Mike

Yes I have that screen but it doesn't give me the option to 'always display map' only 'never show map/show 0.1-1mile from junction'.

Thanks.

Edit - I also see there is an option to 'show speed limit'. Is this not available for UK roads because I can't see it. I would like this to display in the info bar ala TomTom "65/70 mph". Failing that, the option to have the current road name on the dual display would be nice.

I notice that some US users of CoPilot are saying to change the routing from Quickest to Shortest, and then tell it to favour motorways and dual carriageways, has anyone tried that in the UK?

I'm off on holiday next week so am trying to get some settings that work well!

Cheers,

greg

I've been playing with the routing for a week now and only when I read the suggested settings above did I realise there were more options hidden off screen than M-way's and Dual-Carriageways Doh!

I really like CoPilot abut the routing is the biggest issue, once I can find a profile that matches what TT used to offer me (and which I always found worked well) then I'll be very happy.

I've been using this now for many trips around London & south east.
I have had a few issues with CoPilot:

1. the GPS no fix/lost fix/jumping issues which some people report. Taking phone back to Apple as 3G not working well either.

2. spoken directions. If the turn is less than 500 yards, then the only notification I get is just as I reach the junction. I could do with something around 200 yards. I can I alter this?

3. routing options, only just discovered like Darren that there are some for every road, so will now play with these & see if I can get close to my on-board Skoda navigation (or even Tom Tom).

4. Sometimes it dims. not yet worked out what causes it yet. sometimes I use iPod through my Dension gateway 100. Main problem with Dension is the charging/not charging issue/compatibility. Plays through audio system perfectly, but doesn't always charge when doing so.

Mike

I've started a new thread in the CoPilot Forum where we can share our Routing Configs.

If its the ALK camera file you want to upload to the device you need to be running a Jailbroken phone otherwise forget it, if your phone is configured in this way:

Applications/LOADS OF HEX RUBBISH AS FOLDER NAME/documents/EU/save

You will need to sort through your applications folders to locate the correct folder applicable to CoPilot, once found go to documents/ EU/ save and put the file in that location - Mike

Very tempted by this but will also require France (and perhaps Europe) Maps.

No brainer really. I have TT with old maps and am loathe to pay them £40 for newer mapping. £25.99 for this makes the deicsion for me.

Does anyone know -

If I buy UK now will I be able to pay a reasonable amount later for France / Europe?

Will Europe include UK?

If so would I be better to wait?

Thanks
