Thanks Mike, I am intending to try something like that with the connector, if I can get my big hands in the small space, I may need to employ a gynaecologist Laughing

I tried turn by turn Sygic with iO Play this afternoon.

When playing the iPhone music, the Navigation instructions are mixed with the music, not too bad, but would be better if Sygic could autopause the music for the duration.

When playing the car radio, the navigation announcements can be clipped a bit, especially if there is a very slight pause in the nav announcements, I think the hang time of the auto switch back to radio could be better.

Maybe a firmware update would improve it, but I note there is no way for the user to update the iO Play firmware by bluetooth, though the iO Talk 2, which does not seem to be available in the UK, can be updated.

I asked earlier about how to put the iOPlay into "iPhone Mode" as they refer to it in their FAQ.

I found this on another forum:

Quote:
To put the ioplay into phone mode you apparently press and hold down the red and green buttons on the controller until you hear two beeps. About five seconds. If it beeps once repeat until you get two beeps. If you hold them down too long you will reset the device, and clear all pairing.

I found 1 beep is the default mode, 2 beeps is iPhone Mode and 3 beeps means you have cleared all pairing.

Out of interest, what does iPhone mode offer over the standard mode?

I spotted a thread on the O2 forum about lots of problems with the iO PLAY, but they seem to have been iPhone related, and resolved with the 3.0 firmware.

Good question - but it has nothing to do with the earlier problems with pre iPhone 3.0 audio streaming glitches. Yes they are gone with the iPhone 3.0.

All I can find out is:

See http://www.my-io.com/Support/faq.aspx

Q.
When using my iPhone with iO Play & the iPod/iPhone Bluetooth adaptor (iO-BTAPOD), music from the iPhone interupts my phone call.

A:
Make sure iO Play is in "iPhone Mode". To put iO Play in "iPhone Mode" refer to the car kit Quick Start Guide.

Q.
When I have my iPod and mobile phone simutaniously connected to iO Play or iO Talk the iPod does not pause when i make or receive a phone call.

A:
Make sure the iO Play or iO Talk car kits are in default mode and are NOT in iPhone Mode. Refer to the car kit Quick Start Guide to determine what MP3 mode the kit is in.

Anyone had any success getting any sort of reply from IO's support via their webpage? - I have asked two questions and not had as much as an acknowledgement.

I rang the number there to get the replacement controller. Perhaps worth trying that instead? I get the feeling they're busy.

Yes, no doubt - just feel they need to update their FAQ and manuals a little bit.

My old white iPod won't work at all with the bluetooth adaptor, though it works fine with both the iPod Touch and the iPod mini. According their info it should work with any iPod that has a dock connector.

Hi Guys..

This is my first post and it deals with a problem I am having with my io Talk. The system worked fine with my iPhone 1st Gen - both for bluetooth calls and music streaming (unsing the BT adapter)

I have now purchase a 3GS and since is supports A2DP I no longer use the dongle. However I have a problem; when I am streaming music and a call comes in i get a really loud squelching noice which I can only stop by actually turning off the car!! I can make calls while streaming audio no problem, and can also recieve calls as long as I am NOT straming music - the problem only occures when I recieve a call WHILE streaming music from my iPhone.

I have tried turning iPhone mode On/Off several times as well as removing and re-pairing to no avail.

Has anyone encountered this problem, or is anyone working fine with the 3GS and ioTalk? I am trying to find out if it may be something with the phone (running 3.0 BTW) or with the ioTalk system..

Thanks,
Darren
