Recent bug in this Board's software?

Normally, the process I use to read new postings in a forum (TomTom PND, mainly) is this:

1. Click my screen refresh button to see all the new posts (designated with the yellow (newest post) icon.
2. Start from the most recent, clicking the yellow icon, read the posts.
3. Click on the 'back to top' link
4. Click on the 'Portable Navigation Device Link.
5. See (again) the remaining listing of posts with yellow icons.
6. Click on the next most recent...and loop back to step 2 above until all the new posts are read.

But, for the last couple of days, when I click the link in step 4 above, ALL the remaining posts that DID have yellow icons have now cleared!

Initially, I thought it was user error and that I must have not only clicked the link in step 4 but then clicked on 'mark all posts read' which next appears.

But, no. I've been very careful in my clicking and every time all the new posts get cleared even when I have not read them.

As I say, this is happening (to me, anyway) just in the last couple of days.

Somehow I don't seem to do any of that David, so I don't understand.

I just start by clicking on "View posts since last visit" and get everything, irrespective of forum.

Then starting at the top, I read the topic and when finished I click the Back button and return to the list of posts since last visit, read the next, click Back and so on.

Am I doing it wrong?

dhn, although i do use a slightly different method, my yellow flags are working normally.

the software hasn't change for about 5 years so it's certainly not that!

the only thing could be a software update in windows / IE / firefox etc that has affected cookies or cache?

personally i find the best way to view new posts is to press the 'view new posts' link at the top of the forum (or 'new posts' in the drop down menu) then open each one in a new tab.

And, naturally, for the method I use, the functionality is again working properly.
