I have recently experienced a problem with my Go 540. The unit loses the GPS signal and has trouble re-establishing the satellite connection. On a recent journey, the signal was not regained for over an hour. I have contacted TomTom Customer Services who inform me that it the GPS Satellite, not the device that is at fault. I wonder if any other members are having similar problems.

Hi for what it is worth I lost GPS signal lock. The fix for me was to delete the contents of the ephem folder. When the unit was switched back on it found 7/8 sats in under 30 sec 4 at nearly full signal value.
I can only asume that the data in the folder had become corupted.
I beleive the unit does not actually need the ephem folder at all but it does speed up finding sats.

Hope this helps

I can't believe the change in performance after doing this Shocked - by the time I've entered my security code my 940 has lock as opposed to waiting nearly three minutes this morning.

Quick Fix GPS? - something else I won't be downloading again.
