no

only hands free voice calls, dtmf dialling, phonebook, pan (private area network) and dtmf are supported.

THis phone does not seem to be capable of making a wireless data connection. TomTom Serviced cannot be used with this phone.

I thought they were going to allow tethering with v3 release (as long as the carrier also offered it). Isn't that where the problem lies?

The TomTom needs DUN profile support, it looks like iPhone is only getting PAN which won't work unless TomTom change the Navcore - Mike

AAHHH! Thanks for that Mike. First mention I've seen of DUN support as another problem.

If you use WM PPC style phones this has been an issue for a while since Microsoft dropped the DUN profile, fortunately someone developed a CAB file installer to add the DUN profile to the HTC devices but without this profile on the phone the TomTom refuses to use the data connection, I guess without DUN support on the iPhone the same will apply i.e. it won't work and adding core software to the iPhone isn't as easy as the PPC units - Mike

This has seriously ******** me off. I got the new iphone delivered yesterday and couldnt work out why I cant get it to connect to the Tomtom for the traffic. My previous 2 phones, a samsung and a Nokia both worked. Guess i will have to get the 740 live now so I can resume using the traffic. I have to say that I have found the traffic fantastically useful and generally got a good signal, unlike when I had an aerial draped around the screen.
