Really love your skin. Thank you very much for all your effort.

Something I would like added/changed is in the "add via" screen. Selecting "more options" gives you lots of choices but leaves out adding a favorite to the route. I was thinking that either the "Find a City" option could be changed for this purpose or a "Favorites" Button can be added to the left of "Find a City" (Maybe just a star symbol can be used). I feel like that is one of the major ways I might plan a route. Save a bunch of destinations to my favorites, and then when I need to add them to my route. If there is already a way of doing this, I apologize, but I can't find it. I attempted to alter your skin to add this feature but I do not fully understand how you altered these menus to add points to the route rather than find a new destination.

Edit: I just figured out that since Favorites is now included in "places" you can add favorites to the route by choosing "Places Around Cursor" or "Places Along Route". So nm, my request.

I have to say that your skin is by far the best that I have found. You added functionality without removing the style and fluidity of the original skin. I just wanted to say thank you again.

Also, in the 12h time format, the time in the upper left hand corner of the main menu is still in the 24h time format.

You used the fixed value of 2:
formatmodel=2

Instead of:

formatmodel="local.short_timeformat"

Hi Linknet,

I am using the latest version of your skin on a device with 480x272 resolution. It all appears to work ok except that when I go to Settings/Regional/Voice Language, I can change the voice ok but there is no back button to get back out unlike the standard skin. So once you are in there the only way out is a reset.

Cheers, Ian

I've tested this again in 480x272 resolution and I definitely have a back button Confused

thanks for your amigo skin linknet, it really is a great improvement over the standard skin, while keeping amigo "simple". i used to use mainly igo8.3 until amigo came out, and at first thought i wouldn't switch because amigo didn't have enough features, but in the end i realized i didn't really need most of the extra features in igo8 that weren't available in amigo... at first there were a few that i really missed though, which kept me on igo8 for a while, until your skin came out and covered just about everything that i found missing, so now i'm mainly using amigo with your skin. i do still miss the compass, but can live without it (i read your previous post about this and understand your reasoning). there is one other thing i really miss from igo8 though: the possibility to switch between keyboards when you're in keyboard input mode. igo8 has a button that allows you to toggle between the available keyboards, so if you need characters from another keyboard while you're typing, it's a simple matter of pressing a button to toggle to the respective keyboard. in amigo, you have to exit from wherever you are, get back to the main screen, go into more - settings - regional - keyboard, change the keyboard, and then make your way back to where you were in the first place... this happens to me a lot, as i'm using the israel map but modified the language file so that it would show me the menus etc in english, but the street names on the map in hebrew - and i sometimes need to enter addresses in english and sometimes in hebrew...

in any case, if this is not too complicated to do, it would definitely be much appreciated. if not, that's of course understandable and i'll continue using amigo with your skin despite this drawback (at least for me it's a drawback; i realize it is probably irrelevant to many...)

thanks, and keep up the good work Smile

Your comments on using Amigo instead of iGO8 follow my sentiments exactly, I now use Amigo all the time and find it much easier to use and also find the navigation screen a big improvement on iGO8.

I'm afraid that your request, as you've already assumed, is a bit too specific to your requirements and not perhaps of general appeal.

Regards

Road blocking doesn't work in Amigo. I tried adding it, the blocked road shows on the map but the routing just ignores it.

Hi Linknet.

Is it possible to convert it to a resolution of 320*460?
Or is that not possible?

Thx

This resolution is not one of the original resolutions provided with Amigo, so whilst it is still possible it involves so much work that it's a non-starter as far as I'm concerned.

I haven't changed the time format shown on the main menu, it's still as Nav'N'Go designed it, but I might consider changing it in the next version of the skin under the category of Amigo bug fixes.

Hi Linknet, thanks for the response. I downloaded the package again and reinstalled it and it is now working ok. Goodness knows why I had the original problem.

Cheers, Ian

Hi Linknet
Does your skin support speedcam voice warnings? And if so is it installed in the same way as with your iGO8 skin- (Install audio folder and contents)

Thanks

I have a bug to report:

In all resolutions, clicking Settings - Regional - Voice Profile
gets you stuck in a loop. If you click "Next", it takes you to the "Time Format and Units" screen. The only option there is "Back", which takes you back to the Voice Profile page. A way out of this loop is to hold down the back button in the Time page to take you directly to the navigation page, but obviously, this shouldn't be the standard.

The problem is in the definition of ui_SettingRegionalVoice. In it, a back button is defined, but the visiblemodel is defined as: "ui.vEasyWizMode & ui.vEasyWizModeOnFirstStart". When it should be "!ui.vEasyWizMode", unless you want the back button during the wizard setup too. In which case, it really wouldn't need a visiblemodel, would it?

Also, the next button should have the following visiblemodel: "ui.vEasyWizMode"
The "or" statement it has now makes it always appear. I might be wrong, but the use of both vEasyWizMode and vEasyWizModeOnFirstStart might not be necessary.

I saw that there is a ui_SettingRegionalVoiceBack, but I cannot figure out when that should appear. It seems redundant. Anyways, just giving you a heads up. I'm sure you know a better fix.

As always, thank you for all the great work you've put in.

Someone reported a similar bug before, but I couldn't replicate it.

When I open the Settings ► Regional ► Voice Language menu page there is no next button and the back button returns to the Regional menu page.

I think what may be happening is that the original wizard configuration has been completed but not automatically saved, therefore the next button is still visible and the back button behaves as it would in the initial wizard configuration.

Try deleting all of the contents of the save folder, making a backup first if necessary, and then going through the startup configuration again.

Please let me know if that solves it. Wink

Thanks for replying so quickly. Very Happy

Deleting the contents of the save folder did not solve the problem. When amigo is first booting, I was presented with the window to select a language, but not the voice. Then when I go to the Voice Profile, I get into the same loop.

If you cannot reproduce the problem, there has to be a difference between our amigos. Here is my sys.txt: http://rapidshare.com/files/328338367/SYS.TXT
if you'd like to try it out. It is somewhat of a mess, but that's because I change it so often. Also, I'm running Amigo v8.4.2.109504.

I can confirm it happening on two separate devices, an Omnitech GPS and the HTC Titan. They have similar sys.txt files.

Happy New Year!

There certainly is a difference, I'm running 8.4.2.85182 dated April 8th 2009 and my sys.txt looks like this:

[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/amigo"

It appears from your sys.txt that you're using text to speech, if that's the case then I'm not in a position to test your setup.

All I can suggest is starting with a basic sys.txt and see if the problem still exists, although I suspect it's the text to speech that's causing it. Maybe starting clean with a basic sys.txt without text to speech will save the correct settings for the Voice Language menu after which you could add the text to speech options.

After the initial setup wizard has completed both ui.vEasyWizMode and ui.vEasyWizModeOnFirstStart should be set to zero but if you don't get the Voice Language menu then this won't happen.

Happy New Year also Smile
