Hi chelsky
I use Tyre extensively but have never used the map coordinates for my itineraries. However, I will go to Tyre now and have a good fiddle and see if I can master the coordinates thingy.

Hi chelsky

I don't use Tyre much, but I just had a look on v5.3 before I updated it.

On the "Edit Itinerary" page, you can enter Lat/Long coordinates in the "search" box and the position is then shown on the map, along with a flag which has the "add to itinerary" option.
I think that will do what you're after?

Now to update and see if it's still like that!

EDIT: Yup! That still works. Smile

Another thing I notice from the "what's new" page...
Tyre always had a few problems with postcode searches.
But if you now add "PC:" (P-C-colon) before the postcode, it uses a new database and is much better

My main reason for using Tyre is to plan a route through France to Spain using what I consider to be the best route, with a caravan. I have co-ordinates for many campsites on the way so it would be an excellent way to find them.

FWIW, T.Y.R.E. isn't just for TomTom's. Works with a nuvi (that supports multi-destinations) about as well Exclamation for Google maps and itinerary planning, or routes in Garmin-speak.

Hi chelsky
Tyre is brilliant. Once mastered it becomes indispensable. When I have finished planning my journey/holiday on Tyre I know that Tomtom will not take me through French City centres or down narrow country lanes unless I wish it to do so. In other words it will take me the way I want to go.

Well I have just returned from Spain. On the journey down, the itinary I planned using tyre worked a treat round Paris and on down to the campsite in Spain Laughing The trouble started when it was time to come home. I had used the "return" facility in tyre so that I came back the same way. The thing is we didn't like the original campsite so went to another one further north. When I loaded the return journey,TT asked me if I wanted to navigate to "Start" I clicked yes. It then planned a journey down to the original finish point and then back to the "Start" point but not using the original waypoints. Being as this is my first attempt at tyre I didn't have a clue what to do next to get it to follow the original route. I assumed, wrongly, that once I was on my way TT would pick up the waypoints loaded in the itinary. So is there anything you can do if you move away from the original destination and want to use the return waypoints.

Chelsky, Did you plan your route to Spain and the return as one itinerary or as two, one there and one back?

Presumably, from the "Itinerary Planning" function in TomTom, you could have edited the itinerary to show the waypoints "below" and to the south of you as "visited" or deleted them completely. Possibly even adding a new "start" point as your present location just to make sure.

Thanks for the reply AliOnHols. What I did was to plan my route using waypoints on tyre and called it "To Spain" I then loaded it on to TT. I then hit the "Return" button on tyre and loaded that onto TT. So that gave me two itinaries. I didn't know that you could then edit it on TT and I don't know how.
Any help would be appreciated. This is my first time of route planning with tyre and the more I know will help me for my next trip to Spain at the end of August.

Hi Chelsky

I am using a TT Go730. I hope these instructions about adapting an existing itinerary on your TomTom work for you.

To get to the TomTom Itinerary function tap the main map screen to get to the menu page. Tap the orange arrow and once more to get to menu page 3. You should see an icon for "Itinerary Planning", tap this icon once.

Select "Options" and then select "Load Itinerary" Confirm "YES" to delete current Itinerary (I don't think Delete actually means Delete, more like unload). Then select the Itinerary you wish to edit from the choices presented to you by TomTom. You may have to wait a few moment while the Itinerary loads.

You are then presented with all the Waypoints within that particular Itinerary.

Choose a Waypoint you wish to edit. i.e. the one you no longer want to visit.

TomTom will now give you a page of six choices where you can delete, alter, change order, etc. Choose "Delete Item".

Repeat this for all other Waypoints you no longer require, making sure that the fist way point on your new journey is the first waypoint listed on this TomTom Itinerary.

When you have finshed editing, select "Done", then "Yes" when prompted for your Desination.

You MUST select "SHORTEST ROUTE" next, and follow any other instructions that should be self explanitary. Wait while the TT loads the route.

And you should now be good to go.

Good Luck, AliOnHols.
