Change picture for speed cameras (.bmp)

Hi all,

New user here and first of all i must say thanks for a great service

I've just downloaded the "speed zone" version of the database after being recommended by a friend, I am wondering if it possible for me to change the .bmp files of the database to make them more readable (speed wise) by opening them in say paint and editing.

I was wondering if

1st. this would work, has anyone done it ?
2nd would it be ok with the pocketgpsworld team, i wouldn't be breaking any copyright e.t.c
