After the very successful replies to my last, starter, question, how about this one?
I find that on my Nuvi765T there are few villages listed in the UK. I haven't tried abroad yet! It is therefore difficult to say, go to a village like Warburton in northern Cheshire, without an actual address..... Nice thing to do, "meet you in......." without a specific end point. Can't do that except to major towns at present. In old mapbooks this used to be called a Gazeteer I believe.
Is there somewhere a POI list of the smaller villages that can be made to overlay on the normal Garmin mapping? |

Are you giving Warburton as an example as not being in your Garmin? It's definitely in my 760, so I'm surprised yours doesn't have it. I got it by going to "Where to?", then "Cities", then I spelled it out. Up it came. Give it a go. Interestingly, it didn't come up when I put it in as part of an address!

Hi Rick..
Thank you for this... as stated I am a beginner, and I thought that if I went "where to", "address", "spell city" and typed in Warburton it would find it... it doesn't.
Following your lead I then went "where to", "cities" and typed in Warburton.... and it finds it very quickly, including two in the States!
Now, why not the other way????
Still hasn't got Ashton on Mersey......
So thanks, but is there still a better poi list for villages someone?!!! |
