Hi folks,

At work we have a TV that displays traffic and weather, alternating between two PC's. Only problem is the are too cheap to stump up for a Trafficmaster subscription, so instead I've been using the Traffic England site. Unfortunately although the site has recently been changed for the better graphically speaking, they have also removed the autoupdate feature.

This leaves me looking for another site that is (a) suited to display on a TV screen and (b) automatically updates. Others I have looked at include TrafficMap.co.uk which isn't a fantastically pretty site, TomTom's HD Traffic which is a bit busy, and plain old Google Maps' Traffic overlay.

The latter is probably the best in terms of maximum usage of the display along with easy-to-read information, but I'm curious to know if anyone knows other sites that display UK traffic in the M25 area, and do a better job visually speaking?

(Here's hoping that Traffic England bring back the automatic update feature)

TIA

Yep. I believe it routes to the same site as Traffic England.

I literally just came back to post the same thing, sorry Embarassed

I didn't realise until I went a bit further, I use it every now and again, I didn't realise they had stopped the auto update!

I wonder if they did it on purpose to reduce the load on the server, but it's a shame now that the site is a lot better - particularly with the dedicated map window that opens.

Just a thought, and I don't know if you've tried it, but I registered for the Tom Tom route planner. This allows you to select an area you're interested in, plan a route and also updates traffic info re-routing you if necessary. This cuts down on the amount of clutter. I don't know if you have to register.

Ah, that's pretty good! Don't seem to need to register either.

You could also create a web page that loads a source page and auto-refreshes it, not hard to do?
