60csx track problem tracks are adding distance!

Just a quick question i save a track(1st track in memory) and then i save a second track. Now there is some overlap of these tracks i.e end point of first track is start point of second track. I saved the first track the set off on my second route, saved this as another name. So now i have 2 tracks BUT the GPS has added the distance, ie each track individualy is Track 1 16 miles second track is 14 miles. When i look at the tracks track one says 16 miles but track 2 says 30 miles. What is wrong?

Did you 'clear' the first track after saving.
If you have Mapsource you can manipulate the tracks [remove points/split tracks/join tracks.

No i did not clear the first track? Ohhh dear i feel a really silly moment coming on. Should i have cleared it, does that not delete the track?

It has been some time since I had the 60csx but with the newer models what you did was the same as saving a lap then continuing!

In my defense i mainly use my satmap AT10 but the garmin has a much better receiver hence why i use it sometimes.
