I have had TT2 since October (upgrade to 3 expected soon) and thought I had found just about all it had to offer.
Yesterday I went to-
File > GPS status > Log
What is this? How does it work? What will it do for me (if anything)?
Hope some one can help.

Just press record and it records all the GPS data received until you exit or press stop.
You can press playback and TomTom will think it is receiving the GPS data so you can replay your trip on TomTom.
You could use the log in other external programs that could use the data such as location, altitude, bearing, time and speed. |

The big problem is that, at least in GPS 2.07, the files are huge - making this less than useful unless you're trying to check for a fault. In essence, TomTom GPS simply saves all the data from the GPS in an uncompressed format, adding five lines to the top of each file that contain various TomTom parameters.

Thanks for the replies.
It doesn't seem as if it will be of any benefit to me.
Ho Hum.
