Firstly Admins, please do not delete this thread or account without letting me know at least what I have done wrong? I had a simular thread and account removed last night and I was just looking for support as a new user. I really don't want to have to keep registering. Thank you.
Moving on. I am hoping to get a Tom Tom 3 setup for my iPaq 4150, can anyone answer the following for me please?
01. Does it have maps of the IOW in the UK edition?
02. Is it really 100% cost free once purchased?
03. Can anyone vouch for PDAMOD's.
04. PDAMOD's do two packages for this, one at £269 and the other at £259. Is the the BT device in the £269 package a better buy?
Many thanks and apoligies about the first paragraph but I had no idea why actions were taken against me here. |

Ryan,
we haven't taken any action against you. While migrating the forum to a new server we unfortunately lost a few threads and also some new registrations. Please accept our apologies.
I can only answer #2 (I am located in the US) but yes, it is free after purchase, no sustaining costs (except for the fuel you need to charge the devices in the car ;-) ) _________________ Lutz

The forum has just been ported to a new server. This is from the forum homepage.

So don't worry about having upset anyone. I lost six or so posts, by the way. _________________ Tim |

Yes TT3 does cover the Isle of Wigets!
I have used PDAMods twice, they have delivered promptly, and got back to me in a resonable time with a technical query.
I personally do not like the idea of Blue tooth, I have gone for a wired option, from other posts it also seems more reliable. _________________ iPAQ 5550; 400MHZ - 256 SD Card - TT wired GPS - TTN3 UK - PPC 2003 |

I lost just over 40 - my post total was just over 1100, and it was back to around 1055 this morning. That doesn't really bother me, as they were all replies to help others - though I hope those I'd replied to got their replies before they were lost.
It's a shame - but I'm sure the team did their best. They've managed some remarkable migrations in the past - the last one involved a change of forum software, and not only did they bring the old posts across, but they fixed up links between threads as well.
My "show posts since last visit" is really weird too - as if my last visit counter has been reset something like about five days, and none of the "show newest" links work. I'm sure, after this session is complete, things will all be back to normal.
On the positive side, the new server is much faster. These minor troubles will soon be forgotten, I'm sure.
