I noticed that Liz's voice warnings on my Nuvi 350 were louder than the standard voice I use (Dan). On a recent trip up the A3 the warnings were coming thick and fast but as I reached the Putney turn off, Liz's voice started to crack up, then there was total silence, apart from the odd random word. The voices were fine through the headphone socket, so I presume there is a fault with the speaker.

I have returned the unit to Garmin for a warranty repair but is it possible the extra volume from Liz has caused the speaker to fail, or was it just unlucky. I dont want the same thing to happen with the replacement/repaired unit.

I would be grateful of any comments on this, thanks in anticipation, Rich.

I noticed this with my 760 as well. The camera warning was much louder than the the navigation warnings. It was so loud, it made the unit speaker vibrate.
In the end, because I could not find a way of balancing the voices, I changed to one of the other voices and the problem is nowhere near as bad.

As I use Ash's camera manager sofware I recently had a game and got text to speech to say "slow down" for the overspeed warnings .

The funny thing is that I am sure the voice almost growls at me .

So now after the Liz warns me of what camera is coming up Gloria then growls slow down if I am still going too fast , much better than a bing or a bong.

Thanks Doug and Darren, look forward to a quieter Liz !! Got my replacement unit back from Garmin, older maps than the unit I sent off but after a phone call, they have given me a free update to 9.1. Probably go for 1 of the male voices until the new Liz is available as still not sure whether she was why the other speaker failed. Thanks again, Rich

Just drop the normalisation point by about 3db, not sure what software you are using but send me the files and I can batch process them for you if you cannot get it sorted.
