Fortuna GPSmart BT upgrade problem

I have gps Fortuna GPSmart BT with firmware 2.23.So I downloading all components from Fortuna site (drivers, GPSsmartBT firmware, FortunaSync) and of course I have speciall Fortuna usb cabel.I tried install new firmware by FortynaSync but nothing - all testes finish with message "timeout" ??? (pc with windows xp)
After this I try on second pc with windows millenium - I can not there install FortunaSync - I receive message that in win millenium lacks some sytem files .You know wich ? Please help me
