Hi,
Is anyone out there using CoPilot 7 with the O2 Serra (HTC Touch Pro)?

I am considering upgrading to the O2 Serra, but have read of problems with the satellite log on.

As the sat nav is an important part of my requirements, I would appreciate any comments/experiences etc., of this combination.
This phone seems a good choice, as it suits in all other aspects.

Cheers...............Brian

Thanks Alix776.......fast reply as usual!!
Sorry to appear a bit dim, but what are "TTF's"?
You would endorse this combination then?

Cheers ..........Brian.

Maybe 'Time to First Fix'?

(unless it doesn't connect, of course. Then you may be right!))

I've had the phone (O2 Serra) for just under a week now and there are definetely issues regarding the satellite fix times, sometimes taking ten minutes or more, not much use when I want to be on the road quckly.
This, combined with one or two other features I didn't like have pusuaded me to return the phone and revert back to my good old reliable XDAOrbit2!

To quote Joni Mitchell......"you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone" Laughing

There is a 'GPS Software Update' available on the O2 website which will install the missing QuickGPS application and greatly improves the time to acquire a GPS fix. I havent had any problems using CoPilot since installing the update and usually have a GPS fix before setting off now!

Find it here (you need your Serra's S/N) http://www.my-xda.com/software_updates.jsp

using something like gps today (use the standalone app which is free) will help also personally i would use quickfix gps as it can lead to incorrect positining as it downloads the data for sat 32 which most application either cant use or it throws the positioning out

I too find Copilot 7 takes long time to get GPS fix, once it took about 30 mins. Now I start Garmin first, which ALWAYS gets a gps fix in less in 30 secs then load Copilot.
