Speed Camera May Have Caused Fatal Crash

Without meaning to cast aspersions to any person living or deceased...

The Police recently stopped calling them Road Traffic Accidents (RTA). They now call them Road Traffic Incidents (RTI) or Road Traffic Collisions (RTC). The reason and logic in this is fairly straightforward: Calling it an RTA implies that no-one was at fault, where in the vast majority of cases, someone was indeed at fault, to a lesser or greater degree.

Now, I'm a professional driver (I drive buses), and in a recent covert DSA assessment, I'm proud to report that I came away with a glowing series of "1"s (1 being the highest, 5 the lowest). But I'm not resting on those laurels: Being a professional means that I have to maintain existing abilities, and where I believe myself to be lacking, improve on those area as well.

The point of this missive?

I STILL check my speedo when I'm driving both a bus and my car!
