good morning

my new haicom hi-204e is giving me data looking like this
$GPGSA,A,1,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,*1E
$GPGSV,3,1,12,27,83,013,,13,51,150,,08,51,278,,31,34,108,*7B
$GPGSV,3,2,12,10,31,294,,19,31,093,,03,28,062,,28,21,217,*77
$GPGSV,3,3,12,02,18,053,,01,16,140,,29,06,314,,21,00,004,*78
$GPRMC,121807.00,V,4907.8000,N,12303.6000,W,,,150204,,,N*5C
$GPGGA,121807.00,4907.8000,N,12303.6000,W,0,00,0.0,,M,,M,,*45

123 degrees west is the pacific ocean , and I'm in devon uk.

It's been running in clear view of the sky for 8 hours now and has not homed in.

Can I put a manual posistion in to help, how do I do that, I'm getting the data from hypertm.exe. Can I poke instruction down to the gps using this?

Do I need to reload the chipset firmware or do a factory reset some how.

thanks

The A denotes "Automatic" and the 1 = Fix Type Not Available

This set of text would indicate 12 sats are in view, but none of the sats that it can see have a Signal to Noise ratio displayed, this is the double commas within each line.

The V denotes Nav Warning, the time and date are miles out, let alone the positional data.

The 00 is now indicating no sats are visible.

As this is after a few hours in clear view of the sky I would say the receiver is shot, either send it back or get another one - Mike
