Yesterday, for me, was "MUG" Day. Map UpGrade day. The day that three months previously, I paid my money for a quarterly map upgrade.
The quarter has been and gone, but no map Crying
Has anyone had an upgrade yet?

Or are they too busy trying to sort out Kate's stutter Twisted Evil

This might be relevant.

Using home with the latest map, the top right hand box where the corrections counter usually is displayed, i now get a

'Newer versions of your map are now available. Get them for as little as £9.95 per quarter with our new Map Update Service'

There is no updated version of my map, so why has this come on yesterday? Are the new maps on the server but not being allowed to be downloaded perhaps?

I am subscribed to the update service for the 530 & 940 and both are still showing the counters.

I thought the 8.15 maps came out on 11th November which means even if the maps were exactly to the quarter, that still means another two weeks.

Yes, I spotted that message as well. I clicked the link and was told that I can purchase the map........
Duly sent e.mail to Joker TT Customer Support Joker.
Let's see what happens.

Same as Tom59 for me too. Just finished sending them the email and have already received a confirmation saying a reply can be expected in two business days so I wait in anticipation.

If you are not logged in to Home you will be offered the map update service even if you have subscribed and will see the red circle in the top right rather than the number of map corrections. This is because when you are not logged in, TT Servers do no know who you are or about your subscription to the map update service.

If you log in to Home (normally before the device connects) you will see the green circle and the number of map corrections.

Alternatively if you are logged in and subscribed you may have a problem.

Mike, do you know how the update system works?
Over the length of a year, will the quarterly map upgrades be numbered 815.2003, 815.2004, 815.2005 etc. or will it be 815, 816, 817 etc?
Does it just happen invisibly in the background?

I don't have a clue to be honest, I am not even sure there is a consistent system employed to the numbering, some have mentioned it is date related but there are plenty of maps I have got where this isn't the case!
There has been v805, v810, v815 so the next logical release should be v820 but thats nothing more than a guess - Mike

I have also had my reply from TT Customer support, they tell me I already have the latest map and that seems to be true, when I check what is available to purchase outright.

The reason TT Home is telling there is a later map available is it seems due to some gremlins that get into the servers from time to time.

I love these replies from Tomtom where they ignore the question!
They seem to just say "you have the latest map, so stop worrying" - We KNOW it is the latest map!

The two questions they don't answer are: why is Home telling us there's a new map available when there isn't one, and why isn't there one! Cool

The first one sounds like another TT server or account issue. I get this when not logged into my account but others get it logged in. That would make me think that there is an issue with peoples accounts who get this message when logged in and they may have an issue with the update service on the next release.

The second one is I think is the next one is not due for another two weeks, assuming TomTom schedule to Swiss timing. Shocked

You're right! Every single time that I ask them a question, I have to respond to their reply with "Sorry, but I think you didn't understand the question"
