Hi all, I hope you can help. I have an HP Ipaq HX2410 running TTN5 version 5.0 with GB maps version 562. I think it is about time I updated my maps but having read so many different opinions on this site, I don't know what to do for the best. Should I buy TTN6 which apparantly has out of date maps or should I stick with TTN5 and download latest version from TomTom? If I stick with V5 are there more up to date maps available? I cannot see any maps available for V5 although I haven't connected to TomTom via Home to check. Also, my model PDA is not listed for V6 but similar models are listed. I am guessing it would work but £87 is a lot to spend if it won't work. Should I just buy a One or XL that has a guarantee of latest available maps. Thanks in advance, Dixie

Even the TTN6 software comes with maps that are very outdated, if you want to stay with using the PDA consider IGo, Mcguider or Co-Pilot.
If your are thinking of switching to a dedicated in car navigation device then look for clearance offers on the TomTom Go-x20 range, if all you want is UK mapping then the 520 with a 12 month warranty for around the £100 with the latest mapping is probably worth considering see Here This is a far more capable device than anything in the TomTom One range, you get the Text To Speech, reality view and lane guidance as well as Bluetooth to the phone - Mike

I'll second what Mike said regarding PDA nav software. do NOT go for TomTom: Their support to those of us who use PDAs is now practically non-existent. They have singularly refused/faild (take your pick) to update the software since v6 (current version: 8 on Personal Navigation Devices or PNDs), which was over two years ago. Firthermore, they only released a more recent version recently on specific phone models locked to O2 in Germany (iirc, v7, not even the latest version of the navcore on PNDs).
I would HIGHLY recommend that if you go down the PDA route, you invest in CoPilot, IGo, Mcguider - of those three, I'd suggest, purely on price, you look at Mcguider - they appear to be switched on to the needs of the PDA user, have a truly MASSIVE range of devices that the s/w will work on (http://www.mcguider.com/en/compatible_devices.html), and it seriously looks like it's only 60 quid online for the basic version!
And no, I don't work for McGuider ;) _________________ Roger, G1LIW
