Files on WM6 - O/T ?

Hi All,

Apologies if in wrong group.

Just wondered if any genius here ( Mike? ) know what these files are on my XDA running WM6.

They are in the root of the "My Device"

cemail.vol 2.48mb
mxip_initdb. 28k
mxip_lang 52k
mxip_notify 176k
mxip_system 148k
pim 372k

Its only they seem to grow slightly everyday when i use TTN !

I could do with some space, so im just wondering if i deleted them would it be the end of the world?!

Any ideas? BTW i dont use an email account on my pda, so not sure what cemail.vol is!

I was curious about these myself. They are WM system files and as such it would be a mistake to try and delete.

Cemail.vol is also stores SMS messaging which is probably why you are seeing changes.

Since they are not of significant size just accept them, or if they bother you in the directory try and set to hidden.

I thought that the SMS went into \my device\windows\messaging\ as i have lots of small files in here?

is there some direct link between this folder and the cemail.vol file?

I do not understand the functionality, its just what came up in Google. Some of the files ie the PIM seem to be referencing files, a bit like an indexing system.

Incidentally, files 2 and 5 on you device are not present on mine. Cemail is present but just 152Kb with only a handful of SMS and mail stored.

These files do not bother me at all as I do not usually delve in the device.

What does bother me is the navigator file in the storage card that is perhaps vulnerable to mistakes and resets the hidden attribute each time TTN closes.. This is the reason my TTN map and associated TTN system files are set to hidden status. Just folders I need to access on the card are visible from file explorer, which keeps the card visibly clean and free from accidental deletion.

Thanks for info, just wanted to know really, as im short for space!

Expect the reason for cemail.vol file size is because of my sms inbox and sent box overflow!
