I bought a 740 yesterday from Amazon and I think they are doing themselves a marketing disservice. I paid £269 but when I got the box a pleasant surprise was it includes the £40 fuel offer. No mention of this in the item description on their website. I rather assumed I was paying the same as if I buy from TT direct with their current pricing offer (about £310), however I avoid buying direct from TT like the plague, the thought of possibly having to do a faulty return is daunting. On the other hand Amazon are amazing to deal with. Only last week I had something DOA and when you ring them there is no quibbling at all, and they dispatch a new product without even waiting for the old one back. _________________ Tony

An update to the above. I really am pleased with Amazon. After using my TT740 for 10 days I regretted not getting the 940, so I contacted them about a refund. They said no problem, I sent back the 740 for which I had paid £269, I bought a 940 from them but via one of their resellers for £314. However, it has £50 petrol instead of £40 so the actual difference in cost between the 2 models was £35, not bad for the US maps plus the additional hardware features. Well done Amazon. Also, they make it so easy to return stuff by emailing stick on labels for the carrier. _________________ Tony

Nice to hear something positive about retailers - so often we only feel the need to post when we are in trouble or have a complaint. Well done Amazon.
PS I assume the mention of the "TT710" in your original post was just a slip of the finger _________________ Gee-Pee

Oops, yes, thanks. Now edited.
Yes, I've always been well pleased with Amazon, and their returns service makes me prepared to sometimes to pay a little bit more than I might be able to get something elsewhere. They always seem to go that extra mile e.g I signed up for Amazon Prime which gives me free next day shipping for a flat fee of £49 per year. What I didn't realise until after I signed up was I can put 3 credit cards all with different billing addresses, and different names. As a result I have my personal, company and mother's orders all on the same account, a bargain. _________________ Tony
