pocketgpsworld.comWe've all had those moments of white hot rage when our satnav has decided to reboot just when you need it most. If you're fed up with relying on your trusty satnav and want to re-assert your position as the boss then Blendtec has an answer (although we wouldn't recommend it!).

To demonstrate the strength and efficiency of their blender range they have become famous (or infamous) for their 'Will it blend" videos where they test the blender using common household objects. These have included an iPhone, video camera, marbles, glowsticks and now a TomTom ONE!

Needless to say I won't give the game away but the picture at top left may be a clue. Click here to view the video...

The TomTom initially, anyway, retains its power quite well, it takes a few bounces on the sharp blades before the power disappears.

Nice video though!!!

Yep I sent my TomTom Go 530 back as its not fit for purpose: use all the features at once and Crash Crash Crash Freeze, fiddle reinstall, come one tom tom put them all in the blender until you have the relevant hardware to support handsfree mp3 FM Traffic, poi. photos.

If you need other views have a look at Amazon customers feedback to name one.

Anyone recommend a sat nav that works Rolling Eyes

Seriously are TomTom really taking notice of customers, It seems that more complaints are forthcoming than ever on their products, lets face these people are the mainstay of their business, ignore them at your peril, at the moment iit would seem that the majoity is going away from TomTom.

I completely agree that TomTom face a serious and important issue with regard to bug ridden updates, lack of communication and poor support but that comment is sweeping and baseless!

There will be millions of users who never venture near a computer and just use it as it is. For them the issues with HOME, buggy updates etc will be inconsequential.

I am basing it on the increased complaints against TomTom on this and other Forums, so i dont think entirely baseless.

But even if EVERY member here and on every other community website who had a TomTom stopped buying from them it wouldn't make the "Majority" of the TomTom customer base by any means. And the majority of TT users here are not moving away anyway.

I fully appreciate the frustration of those of you with issues, I'm not making any excuses for TomToms very poor handling of these updates in recent times but making sweeping statements such as that do not lend anything to the case against them.

Let's identify the issues and work towards a solution instead, challenging TomTom at the same time for a resolution?

Wait for the claims to come in thick & fast now from the dimwitted members of public who claim.

1/ I thought it wouldn't harm my TomTom, I thought it was camera trickery.

2/ I thought it would be safe to put my fingers in when it was going.

3/ I didn't think it was that good, so I tested it on my kitten. Twisted Evil

However, TomTom doesn't give a flying fart in a beer can about the customer once he's forked over the dough. Rather than trying to retain a repeat business, they bank on new gullible customers.

Why do TomTom have to keep pumping out so many new models every 6 months!

Surely what customers really want is:

1) Software reliability, accuracy and functionality.

2) The most up-to-date and accurate maps available.

3) Great customer support when things go wrong.

When I bought my first TomTom 300, everytime I did a Navcore update I couldn't wait to see what great new features TomTom would have added.

Now it's all about forced hardware obsolescence & crap after sales support.

Because unfortunately that's where the money is Sad

Why does any company have to produce new models! That's how they survive!

Every manufacturer has to churn out new models to stimulate sales, encourage investors and deliver returns to shareholders. TomTom are not alone in acting this way.

If they didn't we'd all be driving around in mode T-Fords and gathering round the piano every night!
