I'm not Andy but that's correct. If you use our voice files then there would be four per camera file e.g.
  • pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.bmp
  • pocketgps_uk_gatso_20_X2.bmp
  • pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ov2
  • pocketgps_uk_gatso.ogg

At risk of complicating matters again, don't forget that you can mix'n'match the icons. You can have the default icons from the download for the 'on map' icon and the large icons for the one at top left or you can use our high quality icons from the download page in both 22x22 and 44x44 format to replace the defaults.

The choice is yours Smile

Cheers Darren,

Just one further question - if I miss out the small Icon, surely there will be no default 'on-map' TomTom icon unless the POI is known by TomTom and already imbedded on the map??

Or do you mean the default PGPSWorld Database icon? Could you post a picture of BOTH sometime?

Thanks again.

That's correct, you need to have a small icon, either the default from the database download or the higher quality option from the icon downloads page.

The small icon as supplied in the database download is 22x22. If you look at the download page for the high quality icons you will see there is a 22x22 option for them as well.

I tried the 44x44 icons on the 940 and on a route demo, it appeared to cause some voice stuttering, I am not sure if this was as there was TT camera warning at the same position. This did not happen with the standard PGPSW icons.

I'd be very surprised if the bitmaps were the cause. Did you try the standard icons on the same 940?

You have to add the 44x44 icons as well.

So for each POI you should have 3 files in the map folder

e.g.

pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.bmp
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20_X2.bmp
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ov2

etc.

Thanks i have now installed the 44x44 icons and done a demo and they are still small but better than 22x22.

Once again Thank You for your assistance.

That's right Tanny, I tried mine out this morning.

The 44x44 icons are still small, the same size in fact as the 48x48's AFTER the TomTom upgrade. The problem remains.

Huh? Which one of these are you seeing:

If it's similar in size to the middle ones then you've done something wrong!

Ok, so they are smaller as I have said above but not drastically smaller.

There is nothing we can do about it, it's how TomTom display them now and even their cameras are the same size now.

Why have all of a sudden TomTom decided to dispaly them really small?

The previous version it was perfect.

But they're not 'really' small! Smaller yes but not a huge change so long as you use the 44x44 icons.

If you're using the default icons supplied in the download then I'll admit they are 'really' small!

As to why? Who knows, TomTom seem to be making a habit of rash and unnecessary changes lately.

Yes, Darren.

The version 8.3 Large Icons.

A pity - as previously, with average eyesight and a quick glance - type, speed limit and distance were all clear with the larger icons. Now, it's a case of screwing up your eyes and really concentrating.
