I have a strange problem connecting my 540 to my HTC Touch Pro.

I have set up the bluetooth connection, and paired the two so no code is required for connection.

I tested the connection and it works fine.
If I switch off the Tomtom for a short while I can switch on and re-connect.
If I leave it until the next day, then the bluetooth connection is made but I get the message
"No answer from phone, please check your mobile phone"

I can delete the mobile from Tomtom, re-do the setup as a new mobile phone and it all works fine again, but then the same thing will happen next time I try to use it.
It is not on the list of compatible phones but I believe there are others on the list which are running Windows Mobile 6.1

I don't know whether this is a problem with the TT or with the phone.
Any ideas?

I get the same thing with the my HTC PDA based phone from time to time, I tend to reset the TomTom by holding down the power button for 20+ seconds until it re-boots, then it finds the phone and works - Mike

Shot in the dark on the WM side.
Go start/settings/connections/bluetooth/timeout and set to "never".

Unlikely as it detects the phone and does the bluetooth connect, just cannot make calls.
I will give it a go though.

Strange. Do you get the same as me, bluetooth connects, but cannot make/receive calls.
If so, then seems like it is either WM6.1 or HTC

I have the same thing with a HTC Dual Touch - it is very annoying.

The other day I had a new one - I tried to make a call and the TomTom reported that my phone did not support that feature. I rebooted everything, re-paired the phone and it still said it didn't support the feature.

I waited a day, tried again, and it worked fine.

I blame the phone, I haven't named it Duff for nothing.

I have problems with the HTC and the Go-s. It cannot see the incoming text messages and the volume leaves a lot to be desired. My old SonyEs work without issue and the Go reads the incoming texts to me. The HTC works well as a GPRS modem on the 530.

I have given up and bought a full handsfree wired Carcomm kit for the HTC for one of the cars, although I have not yet had time to wire it in. It also has the benefit of a 5V mini USB output so I don't need a power lead to my lighter socket.

This problem seems to be sorted, although I don't understand why.
I removed the bluetooth pairing from both the phone and the TT.
Then this time I got the phone to find the TT first. Then I located the phone from the TT and went through the normal setup.
It has been fine for a couple of days now, so it looks like the setup is now working.

Well it was nice while it lasted, but it has gone back to being inconsistent.
Such is life with a Tomtom.
