At present I have the v693 Kate and v691 Simon on my Go,
the v710 Kate and v700 Simon in my Home Downloads folder, and the entire Go930 Loquendo folder (from the links above) elsewhere on my PC.

Does anyone know how to work out the version numbers of this last lot, before I put them on the Go, and without moving them into a place Home can see them? There's no obvious text file although some of the files have names like "EnglishGb6.9.atm" etc.

When I connected my 720 last night I had a warning that Kate (Comp Voice) was not compatible with my version of software (8.3) after checking the versions the one installed was V693 and I was being offered V710 now I was not having any problems with the voice stuttering to start with but this could be the NZ version of the 720 as I has 28mb of free Ram where I have seen some people reporting that their Ram was down to 10mb after the 8.3 update. Anyway have updated to Kate V710 and still have no voice stuttering problems and free Ram is now reporting as 20.2mb.

The NZ map does not have the cspeechXX.dat so voice input is not available for NZ I dont know if this is the cause of the low memory that some people report with the stuttering voice. I did read somewhere that using the 730 voice fixed the problem and I think the 730 was using V7 TTS. So it might be worth updating your comp voice to the new V710.

cheers

I don't seem to be getting offered the TTS7.10 Kate voice - any chance of making the CAB file available?

Andy

OK the V710 version of Kate that Home downloaded for my 720 is here
http://rapidshare.com/files/165211290/Kate.rar
the file contains:
3008-Kate.png
British_English-female-Kate.cab
British_English-female-Kate.toc

and was located in TomTom\HOME\Download\loqendovoice\Kate-1
the dir Kate has the V693

cheers

If you view the Kate.vde file
my V693 contains
; Voice descriptor file for Loquendo TTS

"Include" = "EnglishGb6.9.lde"
"Description" = "British English female voice"
"Name" = "Kate"
"Gender" = "Female"
"Age" = "30"
"Idiolect" = "idiolect3"
"Lexicon[1]" = "EnglishGb/Kate/KateTT.lex"
"Baseline" = "100,150,270"
"Speed" = "80,128,300"
"SignalDescriptor[0]" = "EnglishGb/Kate/Kate"
"SignalDescriptor[1]" = "EnglishGb/Kate/KateGilded"
"SignalDescriptor[2]" = "EnglishGb/Kate/KateTT"
"SDELibraryName[0]" = "LoqKateSde"
"SDELibraryName[1]" = "LoqKateGildedSde"
"SDELibraryName[2]" = "LoqKateTTSde"

and the V710 contains
; Voice descriptor file for Loquendo TTS

"BaseDescription" = "British English female voice"
"Library" = "LTTS7Kate, Kate"
"BaseSpeed" = "128"
"BasePitch" = "150"
"Gender" = "Female"
"Age" = "30"
"MotherTongue" = "EnglishGb"
"MotherTongueAliases" = "EnglishGb,en-GB,GB,British,en,English"
"DemoSentence" = "My name is Kate: I'm one of the Loquendo female voices, and my mother tongue is British English"

the Include or Libray line will tell you what version the voice is

Cheers

That was my understanding. Just unzip the download onto your PC, delete the files in the Loquendo folder on the 720 and copy and paste the unzipped files into the same folder on the 720

I also recently updated my TomTom GO 920T to Navcore 8.3 and Europe map version 815.2003. As well as the annoying 'stutter' with the computer voice Simon, I have noticed that the facility to type in my own warning message for TomTom speed cameras is no longer available. Has anyone else come across both of these problems?

I'm considering restoring the unit back to older Navcore 8.01 and map version 810.

I spoke to support this afternoon. The person I spoke with, said that he had not heard of this problem before. So as it is not a recognised problem there wouldn't be fix!!!
However a few minutes after the phone call I received an email in response to my question would I get an extension to the map update that I have subscribed to, as I have had to revert to my previous map and application and would there be a fix and this is what it said

"Unfortunately we cannot offer an extension to the Map Update Service, whilst we appreciate and recognise there is an issue with the spoken instructions the Map is still functioning to a level of you can view the directions, we appreciate this is not ideal and we are working on a resolution to rectify this as soon as possible.

We apologise for the inconvenience and as soon as this has been rectified we will update you. I have passed your details on to the 2nd level research team so as soon as they have an answer you will be updated."

So I hope the email is correct and not the person on the phone, who advised me to re-install the latest application and map then re-download the voices Kate and Simon.

I suppose they are correct in that you have downloaded and presumably still have the new map on your PC?

Its the OS thats stuffed...

As long as you do have that latest map all you can do its wait until they fix it.

Mind you the new maps only work with Navcore 8.3 so its a moot point and they could be accused of shipping faulty product and could be forced to resupply when the problem is fixed. Not fit for purpose and all that...even if it is free.

The effort might not be worth it though......

How are you guys getting home to offer you v710 Kate, when i connect my 720 to home it tells me v7 Kate won't work on my device and the only Kate i could download is v6.9 which i already have.

If I understood properly it wasn't a UK tomtom that was offered kate V7. Mine is only offered v693, but I too have loaded v7. Not had time to test yet though.

With TTS7 and RDS-TMC on no stuttering at all today with IQ Routes turned back on.

One rather worrying I have noticed though is that with IQ Routes turned back on the lag on the map refresh when driving is terrible - at some points today the screen refresh was about once every two seconds - when travelling at 70mph it was miles behind where I was.

I turned IQ routing back off and the screen went back to refreshing quickly as normal after the route was cleared and recalculated without IQ routing turned back on.

I reckon the entire problem is caused by the IQ2 routing - can someone try turning off IQ routing on a x20 running TTS6 to see if it makes any difference??

Infama are you using the v7 voices then? If so where did you get the v7 simon from?
So to try and get my 720 going do I need to copy over the complete loquendo folder from a 730?

The cab file for Simon is from the tomtom site. I posted a link yesterday. Simon has the best pronunciation for Franch names I have heard so far! Brilliant.

When I install this voice Home reckons it is still v7.00??

All file sizes exactly the same as I had before.

Home still isn't offering any voice updates to me either.
