GarminXT + POILoader + custom POIS + custom alert sound

I have been using POIloader to load test POIs and alerts onto my GarminXT.

I use the software and it all seems to work fine on the POI loader end.
I have example.csv and example.mp3 for the POI file and the alert in the same folder which POIloader is pointing to.

However all it does is bleep at me, it never plays the MP3 file???
POI loader is making a poi.gpi file that is bigger than the one when I generate the gpi without the mp3 in the directory.

My settings in proximity points:
Custom POI sets - Enabled
Garmin safety cameras: Disabled
Audio Notification - Continuous - All alerts

Should I change the last to Continuous -speed alerts or Single Tone?? Logically the one I want is the all alerts option (my own little diy tour guide test :p)

Should I be doing something else???
Should I be using .wavs instead??
Do I need to copy the actual .mp3/.wav to the garminxt card?
Does GarminXT even work with custom sound alerts?

What you are doing is correct but i believe the mp3 alerts won't work with the GarminXT.

thanks - thought as much. I'm going to flick through the manual. In my laziness i completely forgot about it . I didn't even give it a check.
