Save your money and don't bother, it's poor at best, worthless at worst.

The RDS-TMC data is very poor. TomTom's actual receiver is no worse than others I have tested i.e. rubbish!

Not sure what you mean by "as i can't see how any motorist could use them as it always in my charger"?

Stuck on the M4 yesterday evening eastbound about 5 miles short of J8/9. So bad I had to come off at the next junction and work my way across country since it was queued all the way to J5. According to the TMC (via GPRS - i.e. different delivery but same data) the jam was 8 miles ahead of me and only 7 minutes.

In other words, the usual inaccurate rubbish.

However my Trafficmaster Freeway got it spot on albeit I was past J10 before it warned me.

Enough said about the accuracy of TMC

sorry reread my post and it don't make sense ..... what I meant to say was the connector in the receiver looks the same as the charging connector ,so how does 1 use them together if you are charging your device

Ah I see! The mini-USB TMC receiver has a mini-USB port on it's body into which you plug your charger. Then you plug the TMC receiver's lead into the GO.

Bit of a cabling mess though!

But it works superbly with Carcomm's cradle as they have an additional mini-USB socket 'dongle' which is powered so you plug the antenna into that and forgo the power connection otherwise required. Makes for a very tidy install.

Does anyone know if this unit will work on a TomTom One XL (not the 30 series)? From what I see this is the newer 2008 version they are selling.

Well I've just used mine on a 520, and I get reception 100% of the time upto now, far better than my previous Tomtom TMC.
And the info in the last couple of days was spot on too, although I didn't reroute because I wanted to see if the info was good enough, now I know I shall follow its instructions.... well happy Very Happy

It will work on the XL if it's running v8+ navcore, not v7.
