Hi all, i was wondering where i can install the voices from this site, also where do i put the larger icons & can i get rid of the boing sound and change the recalculating voice? i have downloaded a doh! wav to use instead.

On GARMIN devices you have a limited amount you can do with the voices.

You can subscribe to this site then download the camera files and also download the voice files for the Garmin units. Follow the instructions carefully - there are different categories of camera files and you need to get the voice files that match - otherwise you won't hear a thing! You may want to take a look at ASH10's Camera manager utility - it makes things a bit simpler. It's to be found in the stickies at the top of this forum page. Amongst other things it allows you to have alternative icons for the speed cameras.

For the in-built TTS voices (the 255 is TTS?) then the choices are very limited. The basic voices are provided by GARMIN and there is no real way of chaning them (i.e. accent etc) as they are NOT stored a files but are generated on-the-fly by software. However... take a look at this thread by turbocc. His utility allows you to change what is spoken (i.e. you can replace the "recalculating" with your own words - but not a sound file. It works very well
