My girlfriend has just lost her 930..... Angry

Probably stolen from her desk at work as her office tends to have a lot of visitors of dubious honesty - nuff said.

So looking for a replacement and TotalPDA note that the 930 has been discontinued?????

Only bought one in May and that was fairly hot from release? What's the story?

Hmm, interesting. The 930 has not been discontinued as far as I am aware but I'll check.

However, if you can get a 920 you can upgrade it to v8 software free and then take advantage of the Latest map Upgrade Guarantee. That will give you a device that is to all intents identical to the 930 for less dosh.

Does anyone know if proximity warnings work on a 930 without GSP reception, i.e. with EPT as the only input. I passed through a tunnel today where a speed camera is mounted (appears in my POI file too). Even though my TT 720 indicates a movement on the map after losing the GPS signal there is no warning when I approach the speed camera. If the dead reckoning algoritm is good enough it should be possible to get proximity warnings inside a tunnel.

Battery life was usually about 2-2.5 hours when new, but any Go930 is going to be a few years old now (this review was from 2008) and batteries tend to fail after 2-3 years.

There are several topics with instructions on how to do a battery change on this forum.
It's a 10 minute job if you're reasonably competent at taking electronic gadgets apart.
