PocketGPSWorld.com is in search of headlines. Big, bold, attention grabbing ones!

Help us spread the word about our Speed Camera Warnings. The more users we have, the more camera spotters we have! We're giving away £100 in Halfords vouchers to all ideas that are picked up and published offline!

It's no secret that editors welcome information provided by companies (press releases). They have a lot of space to fill and only a limited time to fill it. Of course that's all very well, but what if you don't have a story of any interest to them?

We’re sometimes approached by journalists asking for information about PocketGPSWorld.com. We often get asked if there are any interesting angles that they can use about our site. As we're all usually working at full throttle, we're probably not the best ones to ask - we tend not to see the wood for the trees!

We're currently collating the results of PocketGPSWorld.com polls for possible future articles, but we're also looking for some budding volunteer journalists to help us out with some fresh ideas.

So how do we press an editor's button? We need short catchy headlines. This is often the most important part of the press release. You have to catch attention with it and make readers (and editors of course) want to read the whole story. For instance, are you reading this article because you were curious what the headline "Press the 'Release' Button!", meant? OK, maybe not Smile

Obviously we need decent content to follow the headline, but even if it's Pulitzer prize winning copy, it's not going to get read unless the headline grabs you.

Over to you folks - what is the most interesting aspect of PocketGPSWorld.com? We're not necessarily looking for completed articles or even fully formed headlines, just some ideas. And remember, if that idea is used, you will receive a £100 Halfords voucher. Good luck! Your deadline is 31st August 2008. (Pleased to report extended until further notice - Rob)

Hopefully not a criticism just an observation.

I feel that the recent new car stickers have too much 'blurb' in a small space - far too much to read.

Maybe smaller 'stickers' that stick anywhere such as lamposts along a busy street, as well as also easier to read on a car, might work better with short and sweet statements such as -

DON'T GET CAUGHT SPEEDING VISIT -
www.pocketgpsworld.com

As well as could be smaller and in black n white so cheaper, more stickers for your money and easier to catch attention.

Will try and think of something new.

Warning, Safety Camera Ahead

Members of PocketGPSWorld.com benefit from advanced notifications of speed, sorry safety cameras, on their Satellite Navigation devices. They're able to check their speed and be more alert before driving through accident black spots.

People from all walks of life have come together at PocketGPSWorld.com and as well as discussing everything to do with Sat Navs, they've built up a database of safety Cameras around the UK and are now expanding to other countries etcetera etcetera etcetera ....

"LIGHTS! CAMERAS! COURT ACTION!!"

Driving carefully saves lives, knowing where cameras are saves money, licences and possibly livelihoods. A long motorway journey has cost at least one driver his licence as he clocked up more than 12 points in that single trip! .....
