I have the Navigon 5 software, I am thinking of selling it.

I used it on a PDA last year, it was bought new from Navigon.

I now have a TomTom system and no longer want the software. To be honest I hardly used it as I preferred the TomTom system.

I am now thinking of selling it , the discs and instruction book are as new.

Do I have to notify Navigon before selling it or can I just sell it as is.

I have no idea about price etc but I was not sure if there would be problems about selling, I am sure I can find proof of purchase somewhere.

Thanks

Martin

I bought Navigon MN5 S/H on DVD from ebay last year.

I called Navigon to activate it and they "checked their user database" before agreeing that I could re-register this copy.

I later discovered that the licence requires that the original user de-registers before they will do this.

I subsequently "upgraded" to Navigon MN6.2 which required me to de-register N5 and provide them with the details of my MN5 serial number.

My copy of Navigon MN5 is now marked as "upgraded" and is not re-sellable as it would not now be re-registered by Navigon.

So, maybe it would be worth your while to de-register your copy before you sell it and check that it can be re-registered by the new owner.

Hope this helps

Kim

As far as I was aware the licence was not transferrable to another user. To another device; yes. Entirely possible. You need to notify them with lotsa evidence and the like...

I prefer Navigon for quite a few things but it doesn't do full postcode resoloution alas, but hey, it's good enough ;)
