Hi,
Could someone help me with installing POIs to a Kenwood DNX5220?
I can't use the instructions on this site as there's no SD card slot.
Cheers,
martin. |

can you install to your hard drive (create a folder on your desktop for example) then tell POI Loader to install there. then burn these to a cd (or CDRW) and install that way?
I'm sure it has been done this way for the speed cameras but i can't find the thread at the moment...!

Thanks, got it working.
Download database, unzip to pc, use POI loader to create file from database, create folder called garmin, put file in folder called garmin, burn garmin folder to cd & finalise, pop cd into kenwood unit & it will update itself.

I've updated the Kenwood Guide. As I can't test this, can you check I have explained the process correctly? I'm not clear on how you get POILoader to create the .gpi file as on my Mac it won't proceed unless a connected GArmin device is detected?

The latest (well, Windows version anyway) offers you the option of Garmin Device, Custom Folder or MapSource.

Thanks Paul, that's not yet an option for Mac's but I've used your screen-grab in the guide. _________________ Darren Griffin |
