Going back to the discussion Darren and shadamehr were having....

I just spent ten minutes zooming in and out of Haltwhistle trying to find these damned photo dates (AND trying to work out how you tell what height you're at), before I finally twigged you've been talking about Google EARTH, not Google MAPS! Stop it!

I then tried it in Google Earth and STILL couldn't see them with my existing version, but it offered an update to v4.3.7204.0836 (beta) and they DO appear in that.

Sorry Andy...

One of the previous posts in this thread mentioned that fat - that it is only with the NEW version of Google EARTH that is now available - which I myself also had to download when I read that thread.

It might have paid me to repeat that info in my post, given that it got lost in the meandering follow ups a bit...

BLOOMIN' 'ECK...

@ GPS_Fan...

Woh... Moderator.... when did that happen...?

Congratulations - genuinely so. I hope this means a new era of friendship and respect between the both of us, given your erm, past transgressions?

Seriously though, congratulations, and when did it happen?

Or am I getting this all confused with someone else and you've always been Mod?

For those trying to use the "Latest Map Guarantee" to obtain the maps I have been advised by TomTom support this morning that the service is down at present and have been told to try again in a few days time.

We are advised by PLUS services team that the LMG ( latest map guarantee ) service is currently down .

They are currently unable to assign maps.

Not a problem for me as my 720 is only 2 weeks old so I still have several weeks to update. Not much use if your 30 days is about to expire.

Suggest anyone else with problems contacts Tomtom before their update period expires in case the service isn't fixed quickly.

I bought my TT ONE on 11th April, downloaded the latest map when I got it, does that mean that I don't qualify for this new map under the LMG?

On the TomTom website here it says:
Quote:
TomTom provides you with the latest map pre-installed on your new device. On top of that, if a newer map is available within 30 days from when you start using your device, you are entitled to one free map download.

which, I'm afraid, suggests you don't qualify for the new map.

A lawyer would have a field day with this. Their wording is so ambiguous and contradictory. (I wonder if it is deliberately misleading or just inept).

Obviously if I had realised what they meant, then I would have waited until the end of the 30 day period to update.

Before we go any further, my I suggest that posts are kept within one thread, the latest map guarantee thread, which is where I think it may be best suited.

I have just replied to a post here, then seen one very similar elsewhere and it's all getting very confusing, so I deleted my reply here and moved it to the other thread.

One thing I'm impressed with, the new map has the new A1 junctions at Blyth & Worksop that were only completed in the last couple on months.
