So my new PC chair turned out to be wonky, so I ordered a new one from Staples by phone.

When it arrived, it was a gurt big box, but not chair-shaped. What happens? I open it up and find a huge number of bits, a drawing with numbers, a bag of nuts and bolts and a spannery thing.

Daniel (Vera's 6-year-old grandson) helped me with the last one, but he wasn't available for this one today.

So I struggled. I got very cross when the back wouldn't fasten onto the seat, simply would NOT fit, no matter how hard I pushed and pulled (and cursed). So I went and had my beans on toast and came back to discover the back had been assembled (by me) with the handles back to front was why it wouldn't fit onto the seat.

Now my point is, why can't they send them already joined up? Don't they have chair-shaped boxes, or what? This thing has driven me up the wall and that was really not what I needed after a hard day emptying a Dalek, filling some planter things and weeding under the biting hedge. At my age, I don't have enough time left to be wasting on putting chairs together (badly) - DIY and I were never intended to be compatible. I reckon if I was intended to Do It Myself, I'd have a screwdriver and a hammer in place of odd bits like fingers. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
