Hi all,

I am using an XDAII mini with a GPS reciever and have just purchased a 'cut' 1:25 map from Anquet.

The map will be used for survey purposes and I really need to assign a number on the map to each field so I know immediately where I am at any given time. I have successfully added field numbers using the 'add text' function on my PC, saved it as a named database and it all looks fine. However, when I download and activate the map along with the database on my XDA, the field numbers fail to show.

Any advice gratefully recieved.

Andy.

You may be better creating a waypoint with the field number as the waypoint name. Place the waypoint roughly in the centre.

If the fields are aricultural se then they will already have had a unique identifier assigned to them by the Min of Ag (or whatever it called at present). My mother in law was a farmer and still owns the land. We (my wife actully) have to fill in the dreaded IRAS forms each year - these uniquely identify each field in England. I can't remember the exact format but I am pretty sure it's OSGB related (something like ggeeennn eg SJ123456) I will have to look more closely this year.
