I can't get my 720 recognised by my downloaded TomTom Home. I get the Home menu up on the computer screen and click on one of the boxes such as 'Update my TomTom'. I then follow the instructions to connect the TomTom via the USB and then switch it on.
The TomTom starts but then stops with the view of the TomTom in its dock on a light green background.
It seems the device has not been recognised.
I have reset the device but this has made no difference.
Can anyone please help me make some progess?
Thank you.

Do you get the Do you want to connect to 'Computer'? message.

If not make sure that the USB lead is firmly pushed in. Try another USB Port, preferably at the back of the PC.

If you do get the message, and HOME doesn't recognise the Device, have a look at the TT help on the subject on This Page.

Thank you for your suggestions.
I went to the help page and downloaded the home images.
However, when I am asked to copy the unzipped home images to the root directory of the Tomtom device, I am lost.
How do I find the root directory?
I am using a Mac on OSX 10.4.11.
I cannot get any image of the Tomtom up on the computer screen.

Aah .... you will need someone who uses a Mac to help you with that one. I'm not familiar with the process, Embarassed but there are several Mac Users on the Forums.
