730 CARCOMM MOUNTS

Although the 730 may look to be the same as the 720. I asked the company who produce the Carcomm mount for the 720 and they have sent me the following reply so it would seem that the 730 will not fit into the 720 unit. as its the USB plug they make ref to I would be interested to know if its the same for all other active mounts for the 720 to 730 change. It maybe that the distance from the USB to the TMC plug is the same but the two are positioned on the base in a dif position.

We had a test fitting of this device at the CeBIT but this wasn’t a production model.
There doesn’t seem to be any big fitting problems and once this device hits the market
an active cradle will be available in about 4 weeks normally. The current x20 cradles didn’t fit
well with the x30 series, the USB connector was moved slightly.

I think a slightly larger problem for them might be the HD Traffic receiver that plugs in via the USB port, this will almost certainly require a re-think, its not rocket science but the current mount combined with the new hardware just won't plug together if you look at the pictures - Mike
