Any news on when this will be available? I need to buy something and might as well wait for TomTom 3 if it's round the corner.

It should be very soon. CeBIT starts in Hannover on Thursday and it is reasonable to suppose that TomTom are saving the launch for this show Wink

That Clove stuff is all taken from the Version 2 release info.

However.....

I spotted this while ordering a Tomtom2 kit from TotalPDA for a colleague this morning.

"Free upgrade to Version 3 when released via www.tomtom.com
Version 3 includes: Postcodes, Traffic Info, Stop Overs and new maps"

Thumbs Up

Si.

found this:

Navigator Version 3

at http://www.pocket.at/tomtom/tomtomnavigator.htm award & review page, not sure i understand it, but it seems to confirm March as version 3 release date :-)

can anyone translate>?

Cheers
Nick

Don't know if this helps really, but it's sort of readable? No, maybe not. Courtesy of Alta Vista BabelFish website, so blame them......

So approx.. At the end of March 2004 comes the new version 3, however only with minimum changes in relation to version 2. Mainly it concerns thereby more current map material (which is also urgently necessary!) and the possibility of intermediate objectives. The update becomes approx.. 50 euro cost, whereby user, which bought the TTN2 this year, it will transfer allegedly free of charge to be able. Optically actually hardly which changed, once perhaps apart from the 3D-Symbolen. Which does not fold yet, landspreading navigating is outside of connected maps

Hmm.. I'll have a go. Haven't spoken any German for about 20 years, so E&OE!

"Around the end of March 2004 comes the new version 3, but only with minimal changes over version 2. In the main it is about up-to-date map material (which is urgently needed) and the possibility of intermediate points [waypoints]. The update will cost about 50 Euros but users who have recently bought TTN2 will apparently be able to upgrade for free. Visually there is really little that has changes, perhaps except from the 3-D symbols. One thing still missing is cross-border navigation outside connected maps." [not sure what that implies, really]

Hope this helps.

Hi all,

Just recieved a mailshot from Routeplanners

They say TT3 will be available from next week and give the following prices :

£149.99 inc vat for the wired version (Leadtek 9532 receiver)
£199.99 inc vat for bluetooth (Leadtek 9547)

Software only Europe = £129.23 inc vat
Software only USA = £140.99 inc vat

Details are very sparse on the mail out (and on the website I could only find the wired version but it seems to contain the major roads of europe (for cross border navigation I take it) and the addition of waypoints - I can't see any mention of true post code searching - there isn't even confirmation that they are using new map data...

DinAlt

ps I've zoomed in on the picture of the box and it confirms maps of Great Britain and Major Roads of Europe

Is this the old BT-GPS or is there any new HW to be released?

Yeah I believe the TomTom BT GPS and Leadtek's are still unchanged. We can't comment though on the software as we're under NDA. 8)
