I have just got a new car which has a TomTom TNS400 sat nav built in. Does anyone know can I use my Speed Cameras, POI's and Waypoints from my old Garmin Street Pilot i3?

If you were going to do that i suspect you'll need to re-download them all in TomToms OV2 format. Whilst there are converters it might be better to start again in the right format.

However looking at TT website it looks like the TNS400 only reads mp3. See this page

The Sat Nav is part of an all in one audio and GPS system and the USB socket they talk about is only for playing music. There is a separate connection for uploading and downloading to the Sat Nav.

My main concern is the waypoints saved on the Garmin. These have been built up over a couple of years and are used extensively for my work. It would be very handy if they could be transferred across.

You can install safety cameras so long as they are in the TomTom .ov2 format. Waypoints or POIs etc you would need to extract from the Garmin, convert to .ov2's and then install to the TomTom.

Thanks for the replies. I got a wee program called PoiEdit 2007 which converted them and everything is working great.
